Underwriting Manager

The Underwriting Manager oversees the underwriting of individual loans and assists in monitoring and controlling loan portfolios for Dealer Commercial Services. The incumbent ensures loans are underwritten and structured in accordance with loan and credit policies, supporting loan production teams. Responsibilities

Ensures loans are in compliance with applicable credit & underwriting policies. Facilitates structuring of loans. Reviews credit approval memos for completeness, accuracy, and detail; provides feedback as appropriate. Provides guidance and support on loan structure to the loan production team. Conducts on‑site inspections as appropriate and coordinates with various vendors. Develops strategies that align with business goals in staffing, optimization, accuracy, credit policy, collections and compliance. Tracks and drives forward key performance metrics around verification of application information, underwriting standards, and consistency with credit policy. Manages, coaches, and trains individual contributors across credit underwriting teams. Manages underwriting operations procedures/processes and exhibits a sense of urgency toward meeting applicant requests while also meeting acceptable risk parameters. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, or a related field. Master's degree in the same fields is preferred. 9+ years of underwriting experience within a lending organization (online, credit card and/or installment loans preferred). Ability to shift gears at a moment's notice and thrive in a fast‑paced, scaling operations environment. Knowledge of underwriting and experience with all underwriting procedures. Effective presentation and communication skills when responding to groups or managers. Excellent member service skills. Detail‑oriented with above‑average oral, written, and communications skills. Strong analytical abilities and logical problem‑solving skills. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as profitability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions. Nice to Have

Established work history or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education. Experience in Microsoft Office products. Base Pay Range

Minimum: $120,000.00 USD Maximum: $200,000.00 USD Benefits
