If you're passionate about building tools that power AI and autonomous driving, we want you to join our AI Cloud and Developer Infrastructure organization. Your mission will be to improve the developer experience for AI developers through tooling, builds, and workflow optimizations.
The Role We’re looking for a senior engineer who can lead technical projects, mentor peers, and improve the Python development ecosystem. You will work across teams, making trade‑offs and delivering high‑impact solutions.
The Team Build Platform owns the build system and tooling that supports our AV and AI developers. We use Bazel, Remote Bazel Executor, and CAS to give developers a fast, reliable build experience. Your work will directly influence how quickly new models and software ship.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement improvements to our Python development ecosystem and workflows.
Collaborate with engineers across the company to support their development workflows.
Own technical projects from start to finish, including major design decisions.
Lead complex, cross‑team projects and coordinate with many partners.
Participate in planning, code reviews, and design discussions.
Contribute to the team roadmap and deliver impact in a fast‑paced environment.
Drive best practices and create tooling that encourages engineering excellence.
Mentor and up‑level other engineers.
Conduct technical interviews and mentor hiring activities.
Maintain a positive team culture.
Minimum Qualifications (Must‑Have)
3+ years of experience leading large‑scale, cross‑team initiatives.
BS in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience building developer tools in Python and Docker.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Attention to detail and passion for process improvement.
Deep understanding of technology trade‑offs and their business impact.
Interest in self‑driving technology and its impact.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice‑to‑Have)
5+ years of experience designing and operating production systems at scale.
Programming experience with C++ or Go.
Experience with compilers (clang, gcc, nvcc, etc.).
Proficiency in build systems such as Bazel or Buck.
Experience with cloud infrastructure.
Compensation Salary range: $170,000 to $240,000. Bonus and benefits are included in the overall package.
