We are hiring a Phlebotomist to serve as a Patient Services Representative II at Synectics Inc. The role involves drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring accurate and timely documentation while providing a welcoming, trustworthy experience for patients.
Responsibilities
- Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established practices and procedures.
- Maintain direct, caring contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining the procedure.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and focus on process excellence while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
- Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Confirm patient demographic information and signatures post‑venipuncture, ensuring tubes are labeled correctly in the patient’s presence.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Show organizational commitment and promote a positive image of Synectics Inc. to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong independent work ethic with minimal on‑site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Sound judgment and the ability to make decisions based on established procedures.
- Capacity to handle multiple priorities in a high‑volume setting.
- Superior customer focus with clear communication and the ability to embrace change.
- Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- Three years of phlebotomy experience, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data‑entry experience.
- Shift/time‑zone: Monday‑Friday, 7:30 am – 1:00 pm.
