Job Overview
Join Amentum as a Cleanroom Laboratory Technician II, supporting NASA’s deep space exploration programs. This CBA position offers a 9/80 schedule, on‑site cafeteria, and other career growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
Train new personnel on laboratory cleaning techniques and procedures for controlled cleanroom environments.
Lead personnel in precision cleaning of equipment, instruments, and processing cabinets.
Maintain housekeeping tasks in state‑of‑the‑art cleanroom laboratories containing highly sensitive equipment and samples.
Utilize and monitor Ultra‑Pure Water and GN2 systems in laboratory environments, including cleanrooms.
Perform particle counts on cleaning equipment, tools, and instruments and record data electronically.
Perform monthly laboratory routine tasks, such as repairing or replacing gloves on processing cabinets.
Maintain inventory control of cleanroom garments, consumable supplies, and chemicals.
Coordinate removal of lunar sample debris and dispose of controlled materials per established procedures.
Assist with VIP tour setups and sample inventory audits.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all safety procedures and company policies.
Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of experience.
Ability to read and interpret safety materials and laboratory operating procedures for controlled clean rooms.
Ability to calculate and verify sample particle counting.
Able to operate and handle basic hand‑held tools.
Knowledge of nitrogen, ultra‑pure water, and O2 sensors.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Can perform skilled work independently and plan goals using experience and judgment.
Must pass and maintain required courses and certifications.
Non‑smoker to meet Class 10 clean room requirements.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency may be required.
Must complete a U.S. government background investigation.
Preferences
Experience with stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, Teflon, Lexan, and quartz glass.
Knowledge of cleanroom sensitive equipment such as heat sealers, sonicators, ovens, and fume hoods.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks for consistent productivity.
Familiarity with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
