Position Overview
The Advancement Associate: Operations position is a full‑time position with comprehensive benefits. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, this position offers a collaborative environment working alongside a skilled and fun team of development professionals. The role primarily focuses on supporting the Advancement team and plays a vital role in supporting various functions of the Advancement team, including event planning, parent and alumni relations, communications, and Annual Fund activities. In addition to this, the position supports the management of constituent data and includes responsibilities in research, prospect identification, gift processing, and donor stewardship. Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support:
Provide support for special projects, presentations, and meetings. Assist with general administrative tasks for the advancement department.
Events and Campaigns:
Assist with the logistics for fundraising events, cultivation activities, and meetings. Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and appeals.
Communications and Research:
Help draft content for newsletters, social media, and other communications. Prepare briefings and background information for donor meetings and events.
Donor Relations and Stewardship:
Process and acknowledge gifts, ensuring timely and accurate thank‑you letters. Help create and manage donor recognition programs. Assist with the cultivation and stewardship of individual donors.
Gift Administration and Database Management:
Enter and maintain gift data in donor databases. Ensure the accuracy of donor records and information. Generate reports and provide data for fundraising strategies.
Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, preferably in development or fundraising. Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other database management software. Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities. Ability to excel in a fast‑paced, adaptable, and team‑oriented environment. Availability for occasional night and weekend events. Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs. Strong strategic thinking skills and a positive, professional demeanor. Discretion in handling sensitive information. Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications. This position is ideal for a motivated, detail‑oriented professional with strong data management skills, looking to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative and dynamic setting, contributing to a range of advancement activities.
