Job Summary
The
Catering Sales Manager
is responsible for ensuring that catering and event revenue goals are achieved or exceeded by proactively prospecting, servicing, and closing group and catering business opportunities. This role will also oversee the successful execution of events while maintaining high standards of service and guest satisfaction. Essential Job Functions
Catering Sales Strategies Manage assigned accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and maximize revenue.
Solicit new catering and meeting room business while maintaining relationships with existing accounts.
Entertain and network with clients to ensure repeat business and meet or exceed food, beverage, and room rental goals.
Build Business Relationships
Develop networking opportunities through participation in community and professional association events, blitzes, and supplier partnerships.
Promote the visibility of the hotel to generate new group and catering business.
Event Execution
Ensure seamless event management, including but not limited to: Creating Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
Preparing group resumes
Managing room blocks and VIP amenities
Produce accurate contracts and event documentation within set timeframes and respond to all leads/RFPs within 24 hours.
Communicate event details to all departments to ensure flawless execution.
Financial Objectives
Drive top-line catering revenue by maximizing every opportunity and upselling additional amenities and services.
Communication & Follow‑Up
Maintain strong communication between departments to ensure guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Provide timely follow‑up with clients pre‑and post‑event to ensure ongoing relationships.
Training & Compliance
Complete all required brand and company training programs.
Maintain compliance with all hotel standards, policies, and brand requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
Negotiate contracts and BEOs while identifying customer needs and upselling appropriately.
Handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines efficiently.
Resolve client concerns with professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.
Conduct persuasive verbal and written sales presentations.
Exhibit a strong understanding of hotel operations, marketing, and financial management.
Participate in required meetings, trainings, and events.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold brand integrity.
Maintain professional appearance and comply with all grooming standards.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Physical Demands
Position requires standing and walking for extended periods (25%+ of time).
Occasional lifting may be required.
Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
