Description and Requirements The
Manufacturing and Supplier Quality Engineer (MSQE)
is responsible for driving product and process quality across the entire lifecycle—from New Product Introduction (NPI) to end-of-life. This role supports root‑cause analysis of customer quality issues, develops corrective actions, leads continuous improvement efforts, and ensures robust manufacturing control and reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology manufacturing (e.g., servers, electronics), supplier management, and quality methodologies.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a global position as a Manufacturing and Supplier Quality Engineer. This role will combine analyzing server quality performance at the Lenovo manufacturing facility in Whitsett, NC, with managing Onsite Supplier Quality Management.
Responsibilities:
Lead investigations into customer quality issues and develop effective corrective and preventive actions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing and supplier processes.
Establish and maintain manufacturing control systems and quality reporting mechanisms.
Manage customer process and product quality elements including:
Process mapping
pFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
Quality target setting and performance monitoring
Collaborate with global and local Quality, Test, and Supplier Engineering teams to improve systems, product quality, and supplier performance.
Analyze test logs, failure analysis reports, and supplier 8D documentation.
Support global quality initiatives in coordination with the Worldwide Quality Engineering (WW QE) team.
Participate in Customer First Article Inspections (FAIs) and support audit activities.
Coordinate supplier sorting activities, onsite supplier visits, and manage supplier quality within assigned product scope.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 12 years of experience in Manufacturing Quality, preferably in the technology or electronics industry.
Proven experience in supplier quality management and leadership.
Strong knowledge of quality methodologies (e.g., 8D, pFMEA, SPC, root cause analysis).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ISO standards and audit processes.
Exposure to New Product Introduction (NPI) processes is a strong plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Office 365.
Fluent in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
Strong customer focus and results‑oriented mindset.
