Job Title: Senior QA Tester

Duration: 6+ Months

Strong experience in Selenium and strong SQL coding experience. Minimum 10+ years experience required.

This is a hybrid role, 3 days from Mundelein, IL

Job Summary

The Software Tester is responsible for working with the development team and business users to perform manual and/or automation testing based on business requirements. The software tester might also create and maintain automated scripts using automated test tools in software development projects.

Major Responsibilities

• Author, executes and maintains test cases, automation scripts and other test artifacts such as test data and data validation.
• Provides test estimations and peer review test cases.
• Analyze business and technical requirements to create detailed test cases and test plans.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing for .NET web applications and SQL Server-based components.
• Executes the test plan and manage all activities in the test plan to ensure that all objectives are met and that the solution works as expected.
• Ensure that every phase and feature of the software solution is tested and that any potential issue is identified, documented, and reviewed with the business (Product Owner) before the product goes live.
• Perform testing in terms of functionality, automation, performance, load/stress, reliability, stability and compatibility with other legacy and/or external systems.
• Maintains metrics on testing, bug fixing, and user acceptance testing.
• Validate data integrity and accuracy by testing database queries, stored procedures, and ETL workflows.
• Accurately assess and document impact of software defects.
• Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
• Use appropriate tools and application of enterprise standards.
• Maintain test artifacts in test case management tools like Jira – Zephyr (Plugin).
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Experience in testing web services using available tools (e.g. REST, SoapUI and Postman).

Minimum Job Requirements

Education

• BS or BA degree or equivalent experience as a Software Tester.

Work Experience

• 8+ years of experience designing and executing test cases and maintaining them in test case management tools like Jira-Zephyr, ALM etc.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver results leveraging SDLC methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile.
