Job Title: Legal Secretary – Civil Litigation
About the Role:
Our law firm client is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary with a strong civil litigation background to join their Los Angeles office. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who can support attorneys in all phases of litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, format, and proofread pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
- Prepare and organize case files for court, depositions, and hearings.
- Manage litigation deadlines, calendars, and court filings.
- Assist attorneys with discovery, law and motion practice, and trial preparation.
- File documents with courts and maintain accurate case records.
- Coordinate communications with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a legal secretary in civil litigation.
- Strong understanding of litigation processes, including law and motion, discovery, and case preparation for court.
- Proficiency in drafting pleadings and other legal documents.
- Experience with court filing procedures and document management.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time‑management skills.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $80,000 – $120,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
