ASL (American Sign Language) Interpreter

We are hiring ASL (American Sign Language) interpreters to operate as freelance interpreters in a 1099 Independent Contractor role. As an interpreter, you make a positive contribution to society in support of language access for everyone, regardless of their proficiency with the English language. As an independent contractor, you act as your own boss, set your availability, and accept appointments based on your schedule.

Hanna Interpreting Services LLC is a language service provider that connects bilingual and multilingual individuals with opportunities to serve as freelance interpreters or translators. We bridge communication gaps for those in need through compassionate language services.

Responsibilities

Provide ASL interpretation services during appointments scheduled Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. Interpret in a variety of settings, adapting to different work environments and client needs. Accept appointments as availability dictates. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in ASL (American Sign Language)
• Willingness to complete an ASL assessment to be certified as an ASL Professional (exceptions can be made with proven work history and certifications)
• Complete all required documents in a timely manner
• Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments
• Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (no visa sponsorship)
• High School Diploma or equivalent

• If you meet the baseline requirements, you will complete a skills assessment and background check.
• Qualified interpreters will be invited to complete the onboarding process to join the linguist network.
