JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE Delivers services in various settings to promote recovery and resilience by drawing on personal experience plus skilled learning and formal training in the areas of substance use/behavioral health. Has experience with substance use and behavioral health treatment and recovery and is willing to share their personal/practical experience, knowledge and first-hand insight to benefit the team and its participants. Personal recovery is well established and provides expertise that professional training cannot replicate.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Community Health Promotion staff work closely with local and regional organizations and coalitions to identify and address community health needs. The staff also represents Samaritan Health Services on local, state and national coalitions that supports the mission, vision, and goals of Samaritan Health Services. The staff oversees, coordinates, supports, implements and reports on federal and state grants within SHS and community partners.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or equivalent required. Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) or Peer Support Specialist (PSS) by the State of Oregon required. All job offers are contingent upon the candidate passing a pre-employment/post offer drug screen. Experience and/or training with computer applications preferred. Enrollment in a Human Services Program preferred. LCH Grants - State BHRN:

Possess personal sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others and a non-judgmental attitude towards persons of differing standards, values, lifestyles, and ages. A comprehensive understanding of substance use and its impact on the community and families and the ability to articulate that information to a diverse population.
