Sr. Electrical Engineer - Medical Devices (Infusion Systems)
Round Lake, Chicago, IL
Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on, technically skilled Sr. Electrical Engineer to support the development and sustainment of infusion systems within a regulated, safety-critical medical environment. This role will lead the design and development of embedded electronic systems including control platforms, power systems, sensor interfaces, and GUI hardware, with end-to-end responsibility from concept through post-market support.
Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership in Embedded Systems Design:
Design and support embedded electronic systems across the full product lifecycle. Develop and maintain:
Microcontroller-based control platforms Sensor integrations (pressure, flow, air-in-line, occlusion) Motor and actuator drive electronics Power systems (AC/DC conversion, battery backup, energy optimization) GUI display electronics (display controllers, backlight drivers, capacitive touch hardware, power regulation)
Architect EMI-compliant, robust hardware interfaces to support responsive GUIs and system diagnostics. Ensure designs comply with applicable medical and regulatory standards:
IEC 60601-1, 60601-1-2, 60601-2-24 FDA Design Controls ISO 13485
Lead design documentation efforts including schematic reviews, FMEA, hazard analysis, and verification testing.
Required Qualifications:
