Provides strategic leadership for maintenance and reliability processes and teams at the manufacturing site. This position is responsible for delivering a breakthrough step change in asset performance, while driving costs down to world-class levels through continuous improvement at the manufacturing site.

This position leads the plant-level reliability strategy development and plan execution, including leadership of the transformation plan and its associated activities.

This position is responsible for establishing leadership standards for the personnel associated with maintenance and reliability throughout the site, setting the strategy, developing team and leadership capabilities, managing the maintenance budget, and delivering continuous improvement in asset reliability.

This position will also set objectives for plant reliability and delivery of results that have a significant impact on plant reliability and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) performance.

Scope:

Incumbent reports to the Operations Director. He / she has broad reliability manager responsibilities for technically complex processes, plant equipment, and facilities. He / she provides strategic leadership for maintenance skilled resources and reliability engineering groups to deliver improved asset performance for the Seabrook and Pasadena GEON sites.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Safety:

Implement loss control throughout the organization by visibly demonstrating that safety is embraced as a value. Develop and maintain safety systems in accordance with loss-control management, and lead your team to complete safety objectives and ensure a safe working environment. Quality:

Support improvement initiatives towards process-capability and precision-maintenance work execution. Provide resources and systems to align equipment, products, processes, materials, systems, and procedures to achieve business objectives. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. People:

Manage yourself in accordance with the GEON Values. Lead and develop the maintenance team, including performance manager accountabilities, using a resource-sharing approach, promoting skill development, and career guidance. Build the reliability knowledge and capability of others in the manufacturing facility. Accountable for understanding and assuring cost-effective resource capacity allocations (i.e., managing to the right number of technical resources so that effective reliability services are provided to the organization). Delivery / Cost:

Lead, resource, develop, and inspire the reliability team to drive a breakthrough step change in asset performance with a principal focus on equipment reliability, resulting in an improvement to safety, quality, OEE, and, to reduce maintenance costs to world-class levels. Work in partnership with the facility leadership to achieve facility objectives. Provide governance to all established reliability processes, ensure continual improvement, and build/establish new processes. Ensure we are following standards for all reliability systems. Determine and track investments in reliability technology, systems and methods to insure maximum ROI. Champion the maintenance budget process and foster partnerships in the cross-functional accountability of adhering to budgetary objectives. Manage routine check-and-adjust process associated with the budget, and based on mill spending and business demands. Participate in the capital planning process. Manage a skills matrix for the maintenance organization that includes skills development, to provide improved reliability performance and service. Cost:

You are responsible for delivering year-on-year reduction in spending by embracing and fostering a culture of loss prevention and control to drive continuous improvement in the reduction of breakdowns and other losses across the site asset base. Place emphasis on CFIs and Internal Controls.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering or relevant scientific discipline and 5+ years of manufacturing-related experience.

The incumbent would also typically have significant experience in Engineering, Operations, Lean Manufacturing, and Maintenance.

Possess strong understanding of the broader business and organization, and can relate and connect the Maintenance and Reliability organization to it.

Incumbent would further possess demonstrated ability to organize and lead a multi-functional team and foster a proactive team environment.

Experience in multiple mills, product systems and staff experience, along with leadership of a non-exempt workforce is highly desired.

Working Conditions:

Normal scheduled hours will vary based on the need to support a 24/7 operation.

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
