Job Description
The Sports Intern will be part of The Dallas Morning News' award-winning high school sports staff. Reporting assignments will include a mix of daily and enterprise coverage, with opportunities to cover college and professional sports as well as general assignment work.
Weekend work is required.
You will also be expected to:
Actively use social media in the news-gathering process. Take smartphone photos or video as needed. What Interns Can Expect:
Work alongside seasoned sports journalists in a fast-paced environment. Receive mentorship, regular feedback, and opportunities to refine your reporting skills. Must be enrolled in college and working toward a degree (associate's, bachelor's, master's, or doctorate )
or have graduated within six months prior to the internship start date. Must include a cover letter, résumé with references, and 3-5 published clips. Applicants may also include 1-2 photos or a short video sample to showcase visual or multimedia storytelling. Reliable transportation is strongly preferred. Samples must be legible and clearly labeled; incomplete applications will not be considered.
