Hiring Range: $16.43 - $20.66/hour DOQ Evenings and/or weekends Part Time Temporary Benefits include: Benefits required by law are included such as Jury & Witness Duty, Sick Leave, Social Security, and Medicare. Definition: Performs duties related to controlling and officiating of organized Youth and Adult Team Sports. Position is required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Principal Duties: • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all rules involved in officiating specific sports. • Successfully complete all required trainings and tests. • Maintain proper dress and equipment (whistles, indicators, helmets, etc. ) for the position. • Aid supervisors in the accurate starting times for games. • Prepare and file written reports on all incidents that could result in player ejection and protests. • Aid in the set up and tear down of playing areas.

• Provide qualified substitutes when necessary. • Attend and participate in staff meetings and training clinics. • Performs essential duties and additional tasks in a manner which enhances City Attributes. Working Environment: Work is either performed indoors or outdoors. Must be able to work in an environment with poor acoustics and an array of distractions, including music and weather conditions. Work requires sufficient physical conditioning to perform necessary functions of an official. Hearing, speaking and good public relation skills are required. the work may also entail working closely with co-workers and supervisors. Must have the ability to position and lift up to fifty (50) pounds. requires running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and reaching skills. Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age to officiate youth athletics and 18 years of age to officiate adult athletics. A minimum of 2 years of playing or officiating experience is highly desirable. Special Qualifications: Must successfully complete all trainings and test related to the sport to be officiated. Trainings and tests may be waived for persons who have successfully completed professional certifications (CHSAA, IFOBA, USSSA, USA In-Line Hockey, etc.)
