This role drives standardization of the predictive maintenance (PDM) programs across Oglethorpe's Fleet of 13 power facilities (35 gas turbines, 4 steam turbines, and 3 pump-hydro turbines), with the objective of achieving best practices for high equipment reliability and proactively identifying issues to improve equipment performance. By leveraging advanced PDM technologies, the collection of PDM data, data analytics, and effective report communications for critical plant equipment, this will support condition-based maintenance and the reliability of critical assets, while ensuring achievement of safety, regulatory compliance, and cost-competitive energy requirements. Desired strength in mechanical PDM technologies with level 2 or higher certification in vibration, thermography, and/or lubrication.
Job Duties:
Program Leadership & Collaboration:
Work directly with Sr. Reliability Engineer, Technology Owners, Plant Operators, Technical Services Engineers, and Management to identify reliability issues and determine appropriate solutions.
Develop and drive the implementation of standard processes and procedures for the PDM program.
Field Work:
Visit plant sites frequently to work with plant technicians, engineers, and maintenance coordinators to achieve successful collaboration and buy-in, facilitate adherence, and continually seek improvements to the PDM process.
Analysis & Reporting:
Analyze PDM results and trends for prioritizing equipment issues that need expanding monitoring/inspection or corrective action.
Develop reporting standards to increase visibility of overall equipment health, tracking program benefits, and support equipment reliability strategies integrated in the Conduct of Maintenance and Outage processes.
Provide support with investigations associated with equipment failure and the analysis to determine the root causes of equipment and/or system failure.
Resource Coordination & Execution:
Coordinate supplemental contract resources to support the PDM program.
Support the plants' monitoring of PDM corrective action,s including effective Maximo work management utilization.
PDM Tool Administration
Lead Fleet PDM software administration duties for vibration analysis server software and contract licensing. May include remotely installing patches, updating software, and installing client software on fleet associates' computers or coordinating with the IT department (GSOC SSIT) to perform these services.
Required Qualifications:
Education : Engineering bachelor's degree or related field ; will consider an Associate's or Craft/Tech degree with industrial industry experience and advanced PDM Technologies certification.
Experience : This position is an advanced PDM engineer/specialist-level position. Requires 10+ years of progressively responsible preventive and predictive maintenance experience in an operating power-generating plant (or similar industrial plant). In addition, an advanced analytical and technical problem-solving background with Vibration Level 2 certification or other PDM Technology certifications.
Equivalent Experience : Consideration of equivalent experience will be determined based on a combination of education, training, and professional, technical, or military experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Education considered may include technical and college studies and degrees, industrial training programs and certifications, and military training. Experience considered may include related industrial and military work.

Functional:
High PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel / Power BI / Word / PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Teams, database applications, and work management maintenance system experience (such as Maximo) and PDM tools (such as Emerson AMS).
Contract services management experience; diplomatic and negotiation skills are highly valued for this position.
The ability to author technical reports and to develop instructions from technical manuals, journals, drawings, and other related material, with the ability to clearly convey information in both verbal and written formats, and the utilization of human performance standards/techniques.
Ability to evaluate predictive maintenance data to determine the condition of the plant equipment. This includes (but not limited to) the ability to evaluate thermographs, ultrasonic, partial discharge analysis, air gap data, oil analysis, transformer dissolved gas analysis, borescope images, and vibration analysis data.
Licenses, Registrations, and/or Certifications : Level I and Level II Vibration Analyst certification . Level I certification in other PDM technologies with ability to achieve Level II certificate is desired. Expertise with partial discharge analysis and other electrical testing are desired. Valid driver's license required.
Travel : 30%, mostly day trips with occasional overnight trips
Unusual hours required of this position:
Occasional extended schedule, including weekends and evenings, according to the demands of the role and tasks.
