We’re seeking a reliable and hands-on
Maintenance Helper
to support maintenance operations in a busy
metal recycling facility . This individual will assist in performing repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance on heavy industrial equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the plant. Key Responsibilities: Assist maintenance technicians and mechanics with repairs on shredders, balers, shears, conveyors, and related recycling equipment Perform basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic support tasks under supervision Help with preventive maintenance such as greasing, oil changes, and replacing worn parts Maintain tools, work areas, and parts inventory in an organized and safe manner Safely operate forklifts, cranes, and hand tools as needed Support plant cleanup and housekeeping efforts during downtime or maintenance shutdowns Follow all safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols Qualifications: Previous maintenance or industrial experience preferred, but not required — we’re willing to train motivated individuals Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an outdoor/industrial environment Dependable, safety-minded, and eager to learn from experienced team members Why Join Us: Full-time, stable work with overtime potential Great opportunity to build mechanical skills in a heavy industrial environment Supportive team environment with long-term growth opportunities
