A Day in the Life and the Impact You'll Make:

The EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) Test Technician is responsible for conducting tests to evaluate the electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic susceptibility (EMS) of electronic equipment. The role involves setting up and operating testing equipment, preparing test samples, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

What You'll Do:

Test Setup and Preparation Set up and calibrate EMC testing equipment according to test specifications. Prepare test samples, including configuring and installing them in test environments. Ensure all test equipment is functioning correctly and maintained properly. Conducting Tests

Perform EMC tests following defined procedures and standards (e.g., CISPR, EN, FCC). Monitor and record test results accurately. Identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing. Data Analysis and Reporting

Analyze test data to determine compliance with EMC standards. Prepare detailed test reports summarizing findings and providing recommendations. Communicate test results to engineering teams and other stakeholders. Compliance and Standards

Ensure all testing is conducted in compliance with relevant national and international standards. Keeps abreast of current EMC standards, test procedures, instrumentation, technology and engineering service capabilities by internal training sessions, external seminars, and reading technical articles. Assist in maintaining the quality management system and test documentation. Support and Collaboration

Collaborate with design engineers to provide feedback on EMC issues. Assist in the development of test plans and procedures. Provide technical support during product development and troubleshooting. What You'll Bring:

Education: Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics or equivalent experience. System and/or technical requirements: MS Office software: Word, Excel, Power Point and email/ internet software required. Understanding of EMC/EMI principles and standards. Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, and apply the requirements of test standards to various types of products. Proficiency in using EMC testing equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal generators, anechoic chambers). Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures. Flexibility to work on shifts as assigned; and to rotate shifts with teammates. Interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills. Work as a team player on a multi-cultural team. Frequent use of analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle multiple projects at varying stages at one time. Deliver results on time using analytical and logical problem-solving skills. Customer-focused orientation; professionalism. Ability to work autonomously and/or in a team environment. Organizational skills and attention to detail. Continuous education to maintain and grow adequate knowledge of technology relating to the position. Good technical/mechanical skills/aptitude Physical Considerations:

Ability to work in a laboratory environment. Must be able to accommodate working various shifts as lab activities are scheduled. Ability to move and conduct work with full range of motion Extended periods of computer-based work; sitting, visual Extended periods of standing with need to stoop, kneel, or stretch and extend to install computer equipment Ability to operate a computer and telephone keyboard Ability to lift and move test equipment and samples (up to 50 lbs). Travel Considerations:

Domestic and/or international travel; estimated up to 15%. What You'll Receive for the Value You Bring:

Compensation:

The base pay for this position is $65,000 annually to $75,000 annually. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
