Project for Pride in Living (PPL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering low-income individuals and families to become self-reliant through integrated services in housing, employment, and education. Position Summary
The Housing Specialist provides invaluable person-centered services to help NAZ families set and achieve housing goals to increase housing and economic stability. The Housing Specialist would maintain a caseload scattered site supportive housing with families. In this role, one would provide housing search support and placement, landlord recruitment and tenancy sustaining services to help NAZ families.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide high touch support and resources by integrating empowerment principles and trainings to families
Effectively collaborate with NAZ partnership
Maintain timely and accurate documentation to track progress of family goals
Develop individualized housing stability goals plans with families on caseload
Provide tenancy- sustaining services
Provide internal coordination for referrals for households to connect with PPL Career and Financial specialists
Work with team to plan and facilitate tenant education housing work workshops
Minimum Requirements
Office equipment including telephone, smartphone, and voicemail systems, copier, printer, scanner, and fax machine
MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
The Internet and electronic timecard system
Computer Network (files, drives, and folders)
Apricot or other database systems
Additional Requirements
Knowledge of Twin Cities' affordable housing programs preferred
Strong knowledge of community programs and resources
Ability to respond to the unique cultural, economic and social needs and resources of residents, using these unique resources to meet their goals
Experience in partnering with economically disadvantaged populations
Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, proof of insurance and a reliable vehicle
Education and/or Experience
A course of study in a health or human services-related field leading to a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or Associate degree.
1-2 years of experience in housing search and placement with the target population served strongly preferred
Hours
Full time, 40 hours per week; Non-Exempt M-F 830AM-430PM
