in Tswana, and that’s exactly what we’re helping build-brighter futures for at-risk youth aged 17-25. The Bokamoso Life Centre provides life-changing programs including counseling, health education, drama and choral programs, youth mentoring, sports, creative writing, and digital literacy. Through the arts and structured development programs, young people learn to express themselves, understand their challenges, and pursue personal and career goals. 1)Position Summary The Communications & Social Media Volunteer will curate, create, and schedule compelling content that helps to tell the stories of Bokamoso’s youth and highlight the Centre’s impact. The intern will have access to the Centre’s existing photos, videos, and stories-to strengthen BYF’s presence on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok. The role is remote, part-time, and mentored by the appointed Board member. 3)Key Responsibilities (% of time Responsibility) ·40 % Content Creation & Curation - repurpose photos, short videos, alumni spotlights, and success statistics into engaging posts (graphics, reels, carousels, stories). ·25 % Content Calendar & Scheduling - draft a rolling 4-week calendar (2-3 posts/week min.), obtain approvals, and schedule uploads ·15 % Community Engagement - monitor comments, DMs, and tags; draft friendly responses or escalate when needed; follow relevant partners/influencers. ·10 % Analytics & Reporting - track reach, engagement, and follower growth; present a one-page monthly insights report with recommendations. ·10 % Creative Projects - brainstorm campaign ideas (e.g., #ThrowbackThursday alumni stories, donor "Why I Give" quotes, short TikTok-style reels). 4)Expected Deliverables ·On-boarding brief: channel audit + follower baseline (Week 1) ·4-week content calendar (updated monthly) ·Minimum 10 original graphics using Canva or Adobe Express (per quarter) ·Monthly one-pager on metrics & insights ·Year-end highlight reel (60-90 sec) summarizing 2025 impact 5)Time Commitment & Duration ·Start: Flexible-late Septewmber 2025 (or by agreement) ·End: 3-6 months (option to extend) ·Hours: 3-5 hours/week, with one 30-min check-in call/week 6)Supervision & Support ·Reports to: Board Communications Lead ·Tools provided: shared Google Drive, Canva Pro team seat, scheduling tool license 7)Desired Skills & Qualifications ·Enrolled in or a graduate of a communications, marketing, graphic design, journalism, or related program. ·Familiar with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, best practices; bonus for TikTok or short-form video editing. ·Basic graphic design/video-editing skills (Canva, Adobe Express, CapCut, or similar). ·Strong writing and storytelling ability; eye for inclusive, asset-based framing of youth stories. ·Self-starter, organized, able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. ·Passion for youth empowerment, education, or community development. 8).
