JOB SUMMARY
:
The Maintenance Internship position is meant to be a learning position within the maintenance department. In this position, it is the expectation of Michael Foods that the employee follows a learning plan and put their training to practice utilizing MFI's PM standards and processes. This employee should also maintain good working attendance and behavioral standards per MFI's employee handbook. This position should also provide a pipeline of future talent for Michael Foods.
JOB ACTIVIIES
:
Assist with maintenance plan execution and maintenance equipment uptime improvements efforts.
Major responsibilities include: Adherence to Safety and Environment policy Compliance to Quality and Food Safety requirements
Maintaining clean tools and work areas
Actively engage in equipment maintenance, trouble shooting, and collaborate with operations team on equipment issues
Maintenance includes but is not limited to
Cleaning Painting Preventative Proactive Reactive Improvements Root cause
Tracking, monitoring and entering work hours in CMMS Correct tracking and management of parts usage through CMMS Diagnose and repair:
Mechanical power transmission equipment:
Gear boxes, mechanical drives, variable speed applications, and Servo motors
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Cylinders, valves, manifolds, vacuum systems, air filtration and lubrication devices
Subjection to:
Basic electrical AC/DC troubleshooting. Welding, sanitary welding, pipe fitting, soldering, rigging application and use of mechanical tools, hand tools, and power tools and machine shop to machine within specific tolerance using various measuring equipment. Vernier, calipers, and depth gauges etc. Read and decipher mechanical drawings, schematics, and piping diagrams.

Qualifications:
Understands basic maintenance principles Current or recent enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree related to mechanical, industrial, chemical or electrical engineering field with an interest and aptitude to work in Maintenance. Basic understanding of plant performance, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement Excellent verbal and oral communication skills Eager to learn and challenge yourself; detail oriented, reliable and strong initiative Microsoft Office user capabilities and any CMMS experience is a plus Must be greater than 18 years of age
