We strive toempower children and families to achieve optimal health and well being.We are currently seeking a Family Support Specialist to work in our Community Based Services Family Opportunity Center in Dover! Position Summary: The Family Support Specialist will be responsible for answering calls, greeting family members and coordinating meetings with staff, community groups and families. This position will assist families with registering and track/manage data for reports to oversight agencies. The Family Support Specialist will organize and facilitate activities for both the parent/primary caregiver and the youth while using the opportunity center, and will be responsible for making sure all activities run smoothly and families have what they need while using the FOC. This position will also relay messages, keep records of all meetings and monitor payroll/expenses. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Fulfills training responsibilities according to Children's Home, NYS Justice Center, OCFS and ORR regulations Is familiar with and adheres to all agency policies and procedures as outlined in the Direct Care Manual, Employee Handbook and Risk Management Manual Gathers and updates client/family contact information Completes Protective Factor Indicator Survey with the family Takes part in activities that include providing recreational activities that match the youth's developmental stage and continue to maintain the participant's health and safety Provides intervention strategies for youth and their families as a result of a child's mental health Tracks and reports the number of youth, parents and families using the center and demographics Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team as well as independently Timely documentation of activities in compliance with NYS regulations Participates in weekly supervision Advocates for and supports families coming to the Family Opportunity Center Provides input to the program on the subtleties of maintaining a culturally competent family supportive environment Service provision to include supporting youth and families with community integration, specific mental/behavioral health interventions, concrete needs and social and interpersonal skills Service provision in both individual and group settings

Schedule:Tuesday-Friday 10am-7pm. Saturday 9am-6pm. MINIMUM Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age or older due to insurance regulations.

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

At least 1 year of experience working with children and families.

Valid NYS Driver License in good condition as determined by the Agency.

Must complete and pass a pre-employment physical, PPD and drug screen and an annual physical and PPD.

PREFERRED Qualifications: Higher Education or certificate(s.)

Previous experience in an office setting.

Previous experience working with youth and families beyond one year.
