Title: KUKA Robotics Programmer
Location: Decatur, IL
Duration: 3 Months Contract (Possible Extension)
Key Responsibilities Develop, program, and optimize KUKA/Fanuc robot applications for automated systems. Troubleshoot robotic, PLC, and integration issues to ensure smooth operation. Conduct system integration, testing, and commissioning of robotic cells. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers to implement automation projects. Maintain and update robot programs, software, and documentation. Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and company guidelines. Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance teams as needed.
Qualifications
Proven experience in KUKA and/or Fanuc robot programming. Strong knowledge of robot motion, path programming, and safety protocols. Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and familiarity with common programming languages (e.g., C++, Python, or Java). Solid understanding of industrial automation and system integration. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with keen attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
Experience with PLC integration (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.). Knowledge of vision systems and sensors in robotic applications. Familiarity with simulation tools (RoboDK, Process Simulate, KUKA Sim, Fanuc ROBOGUIDE). Previous experience in automotive or manufacturing automation projects.
