Location/Division Specific Information

Our Hillsboro site produces world-class electron microscopes used by scientists and engineers to drive innovation around the globe. This role works collaboratively to produce high-quality components used in the world's finest microscopes operated by scientists like Nobel prize winners and researchers who imaged the COVID-19 virus.

Discover Impactful Work:

The Team Lead of Manufacturing is responsible for leading a team of hourly colleagues within a test and assembly manufacturing environment. The primary responsibilities include day-to-day oversight of departmental goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity and Employee Development. Additional duties include maintaining and repairing specialized equipment to established parameters and specifications. This position collaborates with the entire manufacturing team.

A day in the Life:

First line of response for manufacturing team when they face problems

Report out results and barriers to execution to upper management

Employee Development

Individual development plans

Provide coaching and training to team

Conducting performance evaluations

Give and receive employee feedback

Staffing

Time-card administration and over-time management

PTO and overall attendance tracking

Workload Management

Plan and track daily and weekly production metrics to monitor work in progress

Facilitate regular team meetings to give and receive updates on workload

Resolve production problems in real time

Oversee & drive 6S program in areas of ownership

Keys to Success:

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

2+ years of education or equivalent experience that demonstrates required skills

Military Technical Training in lieu of a technical degree may also be considered

Experience

Experience with low volume, highly complex manufacturing processes

Demonstrated ability in successfully leading a team of colleagues

5+ years of manufacturing experience with at least

2+ years in a leadership experience

Experience working in the field of electronics and proficiency in ultra high vacuum strongly preferred

Experience in lean manufacturing, 6S and continuous improvement a plus

Experience with Windows-based and MS Office programs required(Word, Excel, Outlook and Access)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Ability to lift up to 35lbs

Ability to sit or stand in a cleanroom for an 8 hour shift

Ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering irons, etc.

Knowledge of electronics manufacturing, equipment repair, high voltage, and ultra high vacuum

Ability to read work instructions and schematic drawings while performing basic troubleshooting of tools down to the component and software level

Ability to analyze and address problems independently as well as collaboratively

Ability to support projects, perform training and work efficiently as part of cohesive teams

Self-motivated, self-starter with strong interpersonal skills

Strong interest in learning new skills

Demonstrated skills in developing team members to their best potential.

Comfortable operating in a cleanroom environment using appropriate PPE

Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds
