Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Asset Management Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Asset Management Manager – Accounting & Finance.

The primary responsibility of this role is to supervise a team (local and remote) to perform both Accounting and Finance activities related to Capital Assets. These activities relating to Assets (by cost) include asset data maintenance of those assets (releases, master data accuracy, disposals, SAP Settlements, etc.), as well as financial close accuracy (journal entries, financial reporting, flux commentary to upper management for material variances, etc.). Additionally, this individual leads the annual asset inventories (at various locations including manufacturing plants) and annual/quarterly capital forecast activities including development, preparation and presentation of monthly results to all levels of the company.

Reporting to the Asset Management Senior Manager, the person in this role will support the Asset Management department's objective to fiscally and operationally support fixed asset activities.

What you’ll be doing

Oversee financial close for multiple locations by reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.

Maintain and enhance a comprehensive fixed asset management system, including accurate records, tracking, and reporting of fixed assets across multiple locations.

Enforce policies for the capitalization, depreciation, and disposal of fixed assets in accordance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

Present financial information and reports to senior management, stakeholders, and external auditors, in a clear and concise manner.

Continuously evaluate and enhance existing fixed asset accounting processes to streamline workflows, increase efficiency, and reduce errors.

Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks to improve data accuracy, reporting capabilities, and data integrity.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT and operations to ensure seamless integration of fixed asset accounting processes.

Supervise and develop a fixed asset accounting team through effective training, coaching, and performance management.

Coordinate with business partners for annual/quarterly capital project forecast development including tracking from inception of project through asset retirement.

Oversee physical inventory for fixed assets.

Prepare reports and lead discussions with Senior Management related to capital expenditures, depreciation expense and other financial data.

Complete various Audit, Operational, and Management requests (Internal Audit, External Audit and Purchasing/Legal requests).

Support Identification, drive and implement new processes and standardization and explore new alternative solutions (software, processes, etc.) to address manual or time-consuming processes.

What you bring

Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.

Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field with 7+ years of Accounting experience

Highly organized with exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.

Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, data integrity, while handling large amounts of data

Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence within and across teams including Manufacturing plants, Finance, Purchasing and Operations

Proven experience in understanding processes and business requirements to implement tools, analytics, and processes to increase efficiency

Proven track record to initiate and successfully implement process improvements ideas.

Proficiency in using financial systems and software, such as ERP systems, fixed asset management software, and advanced MS Excel.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.

Travel up to 20%
