***Reporting to the Midland Strata office, this position will be offsite, leading a hospital project in the Austin area. This person must live in the Austin or San Antonio area and be willing to drive daily to the jobsite***
Strata is seeking an Electrical Foreman with extensive experience running jobs in the commercial space. This is experience is required for the role. Commercial work on hospital projects in heavily preferred.
Purpose: The CommercialForeman is responsible for leading, directing and controlling work of project crew to ensure quality work is completed to customer satisfaction
Essential Duties include the following: Must comply with all company safety policies at all times Completes required subordinate evaluations and provides timely and appropriate feedback Communicate with General Contractor, Supervisor and other trades on frequent basis regarding the progress and coordination of the project to ensure the most efficient installation of electrical equipment possible Keep Project Manager informed of all changes or impacts to project Communicate with Journeyman and Apprentices so they are aware of material onsite or backordered Provide office with all required documentation in a timely manner Study and evaluate blueprints and spec book as well as tracking changes and as-builts Provide instruction to Journeyman and Apprentices regarding assignments and obtain feedback on progress Order material to be delivered to jobsite to ensure installations are completed on time Detail project completely prior to starting job Perform layout and installation of switchgear Identify and use all Prefab opportunities Be involved in all job-related contractor meetings Oversee crew and provide guidance and leadership Develop an understanding and assist the project manager and General Foreman with project financials Review and account for tasking and reporting Review and account for QA/QC and installations to current NEC compliance Develop scheduling Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes Repair or replace wiring, equipment and fixtures using hand tools and power tools Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures using hand tools and power tools Troubleshoot and test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring equipment and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters and test lamps Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for repair, and to ensure compliance with local codes Available to work overtime and or/irregular business hours as requested Assist with major purchase buyouts Ensure that all safety training is completed and properly documented Facilitate and attend in-house training Other duties as assigned Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements:
Current Journeyman License Commercial Foreman experience a must. Healthcare commercial Foreman experience highly preferred. AHA Certification preferred OSHA 30 Certified required Maintain knowledge of current NEC and industry related practices Extensive experience with wiring systems and all phases of project installation; electrical control work and troubleshooting and purchasing of electrical material and parts Ability to properly identify area classifications Experience in commercial and industrial environments Excellent communication skills including both verbal and written Able to assertively address problems with appropriate parties as they arise in a professional manner Knowledge of P&ID and control schematics preferred
Physical Requirements:
Able to work off all types of ladders, lifts and elevated platforms (electric or gas powered); Able to work at various heights up to 50 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other safe work areas; Able to work in restricted areas, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces and attics; Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead; Able to carry tools and materials up to 50 pounds from the ground to overhead; Able to constantly move on feet, climbing ladders and working overhead; Possess good vision (normal or corrected).Must be able to get to various customer sites as required.
