About Us:
Your Hearing Dog Inc. is a nonprofit dedicated to training and providing service dogs to individuals with hearing loss, completely free of charge. We’re building an internal volunteer intranet to better engage, onboard, and support our growing volunteer network-and we need your help to make it happen! Role Overview:
We are seeking a volunteer Web Developer (or UX Designer with front-end skills) to help us design and implement a simple, user-friendly intranet site using web tools such as Google Sites, Wix, WordPress, or Squarespace. You’ll work closely with a content lead to bring modular, pre-scoped

sections to life, with emphasis on clarity, consistency, and usability. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop the structure of the YHD intranet site based on provided content modules and wireframes Build pages using a no-code or low-code platform (Google Sites, Squarespace, Wix, or WordPress preferred) Implement navigation structure, responsive layouts, and accessibility best practices Incorporate branding (colors, logo, fonts) to match YHD’s identity Embed interactive elements (forms, links, calendars) where applicable Provide feedback and recommendations to improve site usability and performance Collaborate with other team members asynchronously via email and shared docs You’re a Great Fit If You Have: Experience building websites (personal, nonprofit, or professional) Familiarity with any of the following platforms: Google Sites, WordPress, Squarespace, or Wix A good eye for layout, design consistency, and user experience Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly Passion for accessibility and inclusion a plus Interest in supporting a mission-driven nonprofit Bonus (Not Required): Knowledge of basic HTML/CSS Experience working with nonprofits or volunteer teams Experience embedding third-party tools (e.g., Google Forms, Calendars, Airtable) What You’ll Get: A chance to lead a tangible, impactful digital project for a nonprofit changing lives Recognition on YHD’s website and LinkedIn A glowing reference letter upon successful completion Flexible hours and a collaborative, mission-aligned team Watch our video to learn more: Your Hearing Dog in the News!
