Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Fate & Metabolism Lab Leader, the Drinking Water Laboratory Technician supports the development of new agricultural products and the enhancement of existing ones. The role involves executing laboratory methodologies to generate data essential for product registration and commercialization, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in planning, conducting, and reporting studies to support product registration for drinking water treatment testing. Perform laboratory testing and data generation as outlined by study directors for drinking water studies. Operate laboratory instruments such as balances, centrifuges, gas chromatographs, HPLC systems, mass spectrometers, and water treatment instruments. Collaborate with equipment owners and Lab Operations to maintain system performance and minimize downtime. Adhere to Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) policies and testing protocols to prevent safety incidents. Comply with EPA Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) Standards and other applicable regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate, organized, and complete laboratory records and documentation. Collaborate effectively with colleagues in the Fate & Metabolism, Regulatory Analytical, and MSCOE groups to support project goals. Required Skills:
General knowledge of chemistry and analytical laboratory techniques. Experience operating and maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment. Understanding of GLP standards and regulatory compliance requirements. Strong attention to detail, recordkeeping, and safety practices. Proficiency in using computers for data analysis and documentation. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Chemistry or a related field preferred.
Relevant laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
