Role Overview Assess patients across different age groups utilizing standard tests and observational methods. Create individualized treatment strategies targeting immediate goals and enduring communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focusing on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques. Work in close collaboration with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, family members, and caregivers to develop unified care plans. Educate patients and families on strategies to enhance progress outside therapy sessions. Conduct occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless care throughout the therapy journey. Maintain timely and precise documentation consistent with regulatory standards. Engage in ongoing education and peer-sharing to stay aligned with field advancements. Education Requirements
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending. Licensure and Certifications
State licensure as a
Speech Language Pathologist . Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA ideal. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within 30 days of starting. Essential Skills
Expertise in evidence-informed treatment methods for a broad range of ages, with a solid understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders that are developmental and acquired. Exceptional communication abilities with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Capability to customize therapy strategies to accommodate varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
