Job Summary

The Shipping Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the daily success of the shipping department. This position oversees the load-out process, supervises team members (drivers, clamp operators, auditors, and shipping clerks), and ensures that all outbound deliveries are executed accurately, efficiently, and safely. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction, vendor accountability, and team performance while supporting company goals for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations Oversee daily load-out process, ensuring deliveries are accurately checked, audited, and loaded onto 3PL trucks. Monitor performance of 3PL partners, documenting timeliness, damages, and compliance with company standards. Supervise internal shipping staff, including forklift/clamp operators, shipping clerks, and auditors. Coordinate with the Inventory team to resolve discrepancies, missing items, or damage claims in real time. Ensure EOD recaps are completed and communicated to leadership, covering load-out performance, issues, and trends. Leadership & Team Management

Provide clear direction, coaching, and accountability for shipping staff. Train new team members on safety procedures, equipment operation, and shipping protocols. Support the Shipping Manager in scheduling, workload balancing, and labor planning. Conduct team huddles to align staff on daily goals and expectations. Safety & Compliance

Enforce company safety policies, ensuring all employees use proper PPE and follow safe operating practices. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping dock. Report and investigate safety incidents or near-misses. Process & Performance Improvement

Track and report KPIs, including on-time departures, damages, and accuracy rates. Identify opportunities to streamline shipping processes, reduce errors, and improve accountability. Partner with Inventory, Receiving, and Dispatch teams to resolve recurring issues. Qualifications

3+ years of experience in warehouse or logistics operations; 1+ year in a supervisory or lead role preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of shipping/receiving processes and familiarity with 3PL operations. Ability to operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and other material-handling equipment (certification preferred). Proficient in warehouse management systems (NetSuite experience a plus). Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed. Core Competencies

$26.00 - $28.00 per hour
