Position: Steel Detailer
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Overview:
Selectek is seeking a Steel Detailer with expertise in 2D or 3D design, focusing on joist, girder, deck, or structural steel detailing for non-residential building projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Drawing Review: Analyze structural drawings and specifications to determine project needs. Load Application: Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to interpret and apply loading diagrams (uplift, snow drift, ponding) to steel joists and girders. Connection Analysis: Evaluate and specify connections for steel joists and girders to supporting structures. Trade Coordination: Work with structural fabricators, precast suppliers, and other trades to integrate design requirements. Design Detailing: Develop plans, sections, and details for structural engineer approval and ironworker installation. Documentation: Create Bills of Material and ensure accurate design program imports. Communication: Liaise with clients, contractors, and engineers to ensure timely, quality delivery.
Qualifications:
Experience: 3+ years in structural design, drafting, or modeling. Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD and 3D software. Education: AAS degree in Design. Attributes: Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
