WORK SHIFT: 7:30am-5pm (9-80 schedule)
Description Electronic Technician 2 under close supervision, performs routine technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronics and Electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment
Responsibilities • Assembly and integration of electrical and mechanical components to create operational systems employing the following skills. Connection techniques: Wire stripping, connector crimping, soldering, splicing; Wiring installation: Conduit and EMT work, i.e. bending, threading; Circuit testing, wiring verification: DMM use, i.e. Ac & Dc voltage measurement, Resistance measurement • Installation of transducers, Thermocouples, Flowmeters and other test instruments • Verification of instrumentation functionality and end-to-end checks • Troubleshooting of instrumentation and controls/channels • Ability to wire to a schematic and ability to verify a circuit using a schematic • Familiarity with Component installation • Mounting enclosures • Run conduit/EMT to and from enclosures • Pull cables through conduit • Mount electrical devices within enclosures
Basic Qualifications for Electronic Technician 2: • Deep knowledge of instrumentation and electrical systems. 120VAC and 24VDC. • Must have ability to operate small hand tools. • Ability to read and interpret drawings and electrical schematics. • Ability to work independently and safely. • Ability to work with electrical / mechanical devices. • Ability to work well with others and be part of the team. • Ability to follow instructions and describe, document work performed. • Knowledge of Soldering techniques and Ethernet cable assembly a plus. • Knowledge and application on use of voltmeter and oscilloscope. • Ability to operate in a dynamic work environment (i.e. come in early, stay late, offset lunch / break when required). • Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications for Electronic Technician 2: • Plumbing installation/fabrication skills: threaded pipe, flared tubing, compression fittings
