Facility:Work From Home - OhioDepartment:Payer Enrollment AdministrationSchedule:Full timeHours:40Job Details:The Internal Coding Auditor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the proficiency and continuous development of all staff involved in coding processes for facility and professional services. The Internal Coding Auditor regularly conducts detailed coding audits and reviews the findings to identify areas where coder accuracy falls below the established standards. This involves working with Coding leaders to advise on implementing corrective actions and providing targeted training to address any deficiencies. The role requires meticulous tracking of coding regulations at both the state and federal levels. The Internal Coding Auditor ensures that all coding practices within the organization comply with these regulations, thereby minimizing the risk of non-compliance. The Internal Coding Auditor must have a thorough understanding of third-party reimbursement guidelines. This knowledge is crucial for ensuring that the organization's coding practices align with the requirements of various insurance providers and other third-party payers.

Education

High school/GED required

Experience

5+ years of coding experience required

Proficient with IDC-10-CM/PCS required

Auditor experience preferred

Professional and facility coding experience preferred

Previous training experience preferred

Certifications

CPC, COC, CIC, CRC, CCS or CCS-P, RHIA, or RHIT certification is required

CPMA certification preferred

Skills/Competencies

Comprehensive knowledge of Official coding guidelines and CPT guidelines required

Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required

Knowledge of auditing concepts preferred

[Cert] CCS: Certified Coding Specialist - American Health Information Management Association, [Cert] CPC: Certified Professional Coder - American Academy of Professional Coders, RHIA - Registered health Information Administrator - American Health Information Management Association, RHIT - Registered health Information Technician - American Health Information Management Association
