Lead Community Support Specialist

BHcare is seeking a

Lead Community Support Specialist

to play a dual role in

supporting program operations

and

delivering direct services

to clients. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about empowering individuals in recovery while also taking on leadership responsibilities that strengthen staff and program quality.

Key Responsibilities: •

Program Leadership & Support:

Assist the Program Manager with daily operations across multiple sites, including training new staff, supporting team development, reviewing timesheets, and helping with quality assurance initiatives. Serve as a key contact for program needs in collaboration with the Clinical Supervisor. •

Client Services:

Provide individual and group sessions that focus on skill building, recovery, health, and wellness. Conduct functional assessments, develop personalized recovery plans with measurable goals, and review progress regularly. •

Crisis & Outreach:

Offer outreach and crisis intervention when needed, ensuring clients receive timely support in challenging situations. •

Family & Community Engagement:

Provide education, support, and consultation to family members, significant others, and community resources to help clients meet their goals and build natural supports. •

Documentation & Compliance:

Maintain accurate clinical records, document stage-wise interventions, and supply data in a timely manner to meet program and contractual requirements. •

Client Empowerment:

Support clients in developing self-advocacy skills, connecting with community resources, and increasing independence in daily living and transportation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred. In lieu of Bachelor's degree: Associates degree or college coursework equivalent (2 years) and 2 years work experience in behavioral health field; OR high school diploma and minimum of 4 years of experience in behavioral health field. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a community mental health environment preferred. Knowledge of Psychiatric Rehabilitation is desirable. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Must maintain an acceptable driving record and be insurable at a reasonable rate under the Organization's auto insurance plan. Must be proficient in Microsoft 365. Must be able to navigate through electronic health records system (EHR).
