Position Overview
The HVS MLS NEXT Director is responsible for leading the strategic, technical, and operational direction of the Club's participation in the MLS NEXT and NEXT II programs. This individual will provide professional leadership in both player and coach development, while advancing the mission and values ofHoover-Vestavia Soccer within the local and national soccer communities.
Key Responsibilities
• Coach two MLS NEXT teams, providing elite-level instruction and fostering a high-performance environment.
• Lead strategic planning efforts to develop and implement HVS "best practices" across all MLS NEXT and NEXT II programs.
• Oversee the creation and execution of comprehensive and challenging player development curriculums and policies for all MLS NEXT and NEXT II teams.
• Identify, attract, evaluate, and retain highly qualified coaches who align with HVS values and performance standards.
• Oversee the training, development, and licensing of the boys' HVS coaching staff; create and manage a comprehensive coaching mentorship program.
• Effectively communicate plans, schedules, and objectives with club directors, coaches, and members through meetings, the website, and other channels.
• Schedule all MLS NEXT and NEXT II games and ensure the Club is fully compliant with league rules, regulations, and requirements.
• Work in collaboration with the HVS Director of Operations to coordinate game day setup and logistics for MLS NEXT and NEXT II home matches, ensuring a professional and organized matchday experience.
• Represent HVS as a soccer ambassador to the broader soccer community, civic organizations, schools, sponsors, MLS NEXT administration, and other key stakeholders.
• Assist with clinics, ID sessions, and coaching education initiatives with affiliate clubs and programs.
• Act as college liaison and help players become marketable and get recruited to college programs and any other avenues to continue playing after high school
Qualifications

Licensure:
USSF "A" License (required)
•
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years in elite youth club soccer, including coaching and program leadership
•
Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; proven ability to develop players and coaches within a competitive environment
