Seeking a hands-on Production Manager to oversee multi-shift fabrication, welding, and CNC operations, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency. You'll drive process improvements, mentor emerging leaders, and deliver exceptional results across the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities: • Managed a Team of 60-70 in fabrication and welding to meet production schedules, reduce process times, and maximize resource utilization. • Partner with supervisors to evaluate and improve processes using Lean and Six Sigma principles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. • Define, monitor, and improve KPIs including OEE, scrap, rework, throughput, and first-pass yield. • Oversee CNC operations and welding/fabrication practices to ensure efficiency, quality, and reliability. • Implement Lean tools such as 5S, visual management, and standard work to stabilize and optimize processes. • Research and introduce new technologies and automation to boost throughput and reduce costs. • Manage departmental budgets and participate in strategic planning for capital investments. • Ensure timely, high-quality execution of customer orders while resolving production delays and resource constraints. • Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors and team members, including performance management and onboarding. • Promote a safe, compliant, and productive work environment across all shifts.
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree is highly preferred in Welding Engineering, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field or applicable experience in lieu of degree. • 3+ years of supervisory experience in fabrication, welding, or CNC operations. • 5+ years of manufacturing experience with strong fabrication, welding and machining knowledge. • Proven success leading multi-shift operations and improving KPIs through structured methodologies. • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement frameworks. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. • Proficient in ERP/MES systems and production reporting tools.
Preferred: • AWS certification or equivalent • Experience with robotic welding systems or automation • Background in engineered-to-order production
