Job Summary:
The Automation Systems Technician will support and maintain automation systems within Client's Concord Optical Fiber warehouse area. This role involves hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of robotic and automated systems responsible for order fulfillment. Following an initial day-shift training period (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM), the position transitions to a 12-hour rotating day/night shift schedule aligned with Corning’s production operations.
Key Responsibilities: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automation systems, including mini load AS/RS cranes, Fanuc robots, roller conveyors, and other automated devices. Use PLC code to diagnose and resolve complex production and automation issues. Operate a Fanuc Teach Pendant to troubleshoot robotic automation cells. Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely resolution of equipment issues. Partner with engineering teams for advanced troubleshooting and process improvement initiatives. Perform thorough preventative maintenance on all automation systems and components. Required Skills:
Hands-on experience with Fanuc robots and conveyor systems. Ability to interpret and navigate PLC code. Proficiency in working with AC/DC and servo motors, pneumatic systems, sensors, valves, and related automation equipment. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with a commitment to safety around automated machinery. Competence with Windows PC applications and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Education:
Associate’s degree (A.A.S.) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology required.
In lieu of degree: 5+ years of hands-on experience with industrial automation systems and robotics.
