Summary:

Assists in researching, planning, and designing mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, and assists in directing and coordinating activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include assisting the engineering team with the following. Other duties may be assigned. Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application. Designs products or systems such as instruments, controls, robots, machines, and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems with consideration for cost, performance, materials, maintenance requirements, appearance and impact on the end user. Prepares technical drawings used by production workers to build industrial machinery to show technical details of the structure and components from all sides, with exact dimensions, the specific materials to be used, procedures to be followed, and other information as needed to carry out the job. Specifies appropriate materials and components to ensure that the standards of performance, quality, cost and safety are met. Uses computer software to generate designs, models and documentation. Provides manufacturing support, troubleshooting and continuous improvement. Serves as a technical resource to other departments to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications. Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

Currently pursuing aBachelor's degree (BSME) from an accredited four-year college or university. We are not able to provide any type of sponsorship for any candidates for this position.

Language Skills:

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

MS Office software, SolidWorks experience required, AutoCAD experience a plus.
