Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious
Welder
to join our team in
Tucson, AZ . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with
MIG (Gas Metal Arc Welding), stick welding (SMAW), and air arc gouging
, and be capable of working in a fast-paced industrial or fabrication environment. This role involves interpreting blueprints, performing high-quality welds, and contributing to a strong culture of safety and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform welding tasks using
MIG, stick (SMAW), and air arcing (carbon arc gouging)
techniques.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications.
Set up and operate welding equipment according to job specifications and safety standards.
Inspect welds for quality and conformance to standards using visual inspection and measuring tools.
Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cutting, grinding, and cleaning as required.
Operate grinders, cutting torches, and other fabrication tools safely and efficiently.
Follow all safety protocols and participate in regular safety meetings and training.
Work independently or as part of a team to complete welding projects on time.
Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
Qualifications:
3+ years
of welding experience, preferably in an industrial or construction setting.
Proficiency in
MIG, stick (SMAW), and air arc gouging
required.
Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
Experience with heavy fabrication and structural welding preferred.
Must pass a weld test as part of the hiring process.
Familiarity with OSHA safety standards.
High school diploma or GED; welding certification or trade school a plus.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions (standing, bending, overhead).
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS or equivalent welding certification.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Experience in mining, construction, or heavy equipment repair is beneficial.
