Overview The

Purchasing Manager

is responsible for purchasing and managing all raw materials and supplies for all departments. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for making sure the company complies with local, state and federal laws and guidelines for air/environmental quality, EPA, water, etc. This role reports to the President of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follow company Mission and Principles Have materials, supplies and tools on hand, on time when needed Be an expert user with company MRP and/or ERP software Oversee use of E-Maint or similar purchasing supplies managing software Develop and maintain close relationships with current, new and back-up vendors Negotiate prices with vendors Generate and distribute daily production reports Work with both shifts to minimize production and scrap reporting errors Manage the cycle counting processes for raw materials, work in process and finished goods Become proficient with our supply chain software Develop/change electronic processes as needed Manage direct reports for supplies purchasing Conduct training as needed with any department interacting with Purchasing Spend time as needed on the shop floor with employees to learn who does what, where everything is, our systems and our processes Be familiar with plant equipment as it relates to their use of raw materials Attend 9AM daily production meetings Help management with daily quality standards reporting Build BOM for all new product lines or make BOM adjustments Lead and perform physical inventory with month ends and year end as needed Serves on the Lyons Leadership Team

This team is responsible for making sure the company follows the vision and direction set by the Board of Directors

Required Skills and Abilities

Humble, hungry and emotionally intelligent Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Experience with MSDS and its policies, procedures, laws, rules and regulations Able to travel inside and outside the United States up to a week at a time visiting customers and/or vendors Able to work in office Monday through Friday, 45-50 hours per week and Saturdays as needed Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in a business field or related training Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, not required Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting Prolonged periods standing Office position, but some work will be done in the manufacturing environment Some exposure to high noise levels and hazardous materials Other Duties

Perform other tasks and/or duties related to required skills and abilities as assigned by the company to properly serve its customers and people safely and profitably
