Position Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of Eastern's Executive Leadership Team, responsible for shaping the financial strategy and guiding the company's next phase of growth. This leader will serve as both a strategic partner and a hands-on financial steward, ensuring operational excellence, fiscal health, and alignment with The Eastern Way - taking care of people, driving improvement, and operating with integrity.
The CFO will help lead Eastern into the future by building scalable systems, developing strong financial teams, and providing insight-driven guidance that supports both the business and the people who power it. A key priority for this role is to support the company's long-term strategic goal of approximately doubling in size over the next decade through disciplined expansion, innovation, and stewardship. Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Leadership
Partner with the President and Executive Team to define and execute Eastern's long-term strategic goal
Provide forward-looking financial planning, modeling, and analytics to support expansion, acquisitions, and investment opportunities.
Align financial strategy with our people-first mission and long-term business sustainability.
Develop and maintain KPIs and dashboards that create transparency, accountability, and actionable insights.
Financial Operations & Stewardship
Oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial reporting functions.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and state/federal regulations while maintaining Eastern's reputation for integrity and trust.
Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, accounting systems and technology to increase accuracy, efficiency, and speed.
Lead initiatives that balance financial discipline with our commitment to serving people well.
Growth & Strategic Execution
Drive financial strategy and infrastructure to support scalable growth and geographic expansion.
Evaluate and structure capital investments, acquisitions, and partnerships to fuel sustainable growth.
Oversee long-term capital planning and resource allocation to align with growth and stewardship objectives.
Governance, Compliance, & Risk Management
Partner with the General Counsel to oversee financial compliance, contract governance, and enterprise risk exposure.
Oversee financial aspects of insurance (in coordination with the General Counsel), cybersecurity risk mitigation, and disaster recovery planning.
Serve as executive liaison to the Board, ensuring transparency and accuracy in all reporting.
Business Partnership & Decision Support -
Partner with Operations, Sales, and Purchasing to optimize pricing, margins, and profitability. Collaborate with People Ops and Legal to manage credit, contract, and compliance risks across the organization. Serve as a trusted advisor and sounding board for leaders - translating data into decisions. Help build a culture of financial understanding throughout the organization by empowering leaders with insight. Responsible for leading the finance, accounting, and treasury functions.
Leadership & Culture -
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Finance and Accounting team grounded in teamwork and trust. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and ownership - embracing The Eastern Way of servant leadership and accountability. Champion collaboration, communication, and consistency across all financial functions.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience.
Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or closely held business a plus.
Deep understanding of financial systems, accounting, forecasting, and capital strategy.
Proven ability to lead through growth and change with integrity, courage, and composure.
