The Department of Neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking to hire a outstanding clinical neurologist to work with general neurology patients at the University of Washington Medical Center. This is a full-time, 12-month service period appointment (July 1 - June 30) at the Assistant Professor rank (without tenure by reason of funding). Assistant professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

This individual will be a members of a busy academic service performing a variety of clinical duties including outpatient clinical care at the UW Neurology Clinic and general neurology inpatient attending at UWMC and/or Harborview Medical Center. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for this position in this title will be $19,236 - $21,462 per month ($230,832 to $257,544 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Our salaries are bench marked based on the AAMC scale. Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Startup, Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role, or Productivity Incentive.

The anticipated start date of this appointment is July 1, 2025.

Qualifications

Requires an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent. Completion of a clinical neurophysiology or epilepsy fellowship training program is required. Must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
