MHC Healthcare is seeking an HR Benefits Specialist to join the Human Resources team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in the heart of Marana, AZ. The HR Benefits Specialist is responsible for administration, implementation, maintenance, and management of employee benefits. Manages enrollments and reconciliation for employee benefit programs, tracks leaves of absence, and provides guidance to leadership and employees in the areas of benefits, leaves of absence, and Worker's Compensation.

MHC Healthcare is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 14 sites in Tucson and Pima County. Our mission is to improve our Community by providing exceptional, whole-person healthcare.

The following qualifications are required:

Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field 3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, payroll, or benefits administration with responsibility for managing employee benefit programs, HRIS processes, or associated compliance requirements Current Arizona driver's license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance (39-month MVR will be run by MHC) The following qualifications are preferred:

Healthcare-related professional administrative experience Certification in Human Resources or Employee Benefits (PHR, SHRM-CP, CEBS, or equivalent) Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.

This position has the following supervisory responsibility:

Does not direct or supervise others.

The ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Ability to resolve complex issues utilizing knowledge of MHC policies and procedures, internal process guides, external resources, and escalate when appropriate. Thorough understanding of HR and benefits concepts, practices, and procedures. Excellent prioritization skills, with ability to track and adjust workflows and projects to meet deliverables. Excellent organizational skills, attentive to detail, and able to self-audit work for accuracy. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, research, analyze, create and update detailed processes, reports, audits, and workflows. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to collaborate and influence. Ability to implement and enforce process timelines. Knowledge of HR policy design and compliance with relevant federal, state, and local requirements. Computer proficient, to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills with emphasis on responsiveness, building trust, mutual respect, and courtesy. Demonstrates cultural competence and commitment to supporting and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion through work performance and professional interactions. Familiarity with payroll processes and reconciliation as they pertain to employee benefit deductions and adjustments. Ability to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations affecting benefits and leaves of absence. Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for administration and maintenance of company benefits and safety programs including Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life Insurance, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Leave of Absence, Workers' Compensation, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), retirement plans, education reimbursement, employee discounts, Affordable Care Act (ACA), and other benefits. Communicates effectively as related to employee benefits and programs. Manages efficient and effective processes for benefits enrollment and maintenance. Responsible for the benefits and safety, document management processes. Works with the HRIS Specialist to research, test, and troubleshoot HR systems and related technology. Continuously develops and supports HR process improvements. Researches, designs, updates, and implements MHC policies, processes, and programs to comply with relevant federal, state, and local requirements. Provides individualized guidance to staff regarding policies and procedures related to benefits, safety, and leave. Adapts benefits, safety, and leave-related processes to improve regulatory compliance and employee experience. Coordinates with Risk Management for incident reports, occupational illness and injury reports, OSHA, and Workers' Compensation programs. Designs and generates reports on a recurring and as-needed basis. Researches, prepares, and conducts annual Benefits Open Enrollment. . Responsible for education reimbursement programs. Secures employee discount programs.. Determines employee benefits eligibility and manages employee payment and reimbursement processes. Responsible for verification and reconciliation of benefits records, documents, invoices, and reports. Designs, updates, and presents Benefits materials for New Employee Orientation and promotes benefits offerings to new and existing employees. Manages community service program. Collaborates with employees, Payroll, vendors, and insurance providers to ensure compliance with requirements and accurate financial payments/deductions. Reviews, researches, and manages requests for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and ergonomic accommodations. Continuously develops knowledge in areas of recruiting, benefits, leaves of absence, employee relations, and compensation. Adheres to strict confidentiality policies. Collaborates closely with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely deduction processing, reconciliation of benefit invoices, and resolution of discrepancies. Stays current on regulatory changes affecting employee benefits, leaves, and wellness initiatives, and adjusts processes accordingly. Benefits:
