Primary Purpose:

Assist in receiving, storing, issuing and delivering of equipment, tools, and supplies and maintaining inventory control. Qualifications:

Education/Certification: College degree preferred Must have an Associate's Degree or have a minimum of 48 semester hours of higher education coursework or pass a district test Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to implement policy and procedures Excellent public relations, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Competence of forklifts and other warehouse equipment Proficient in use of computerized inventory system, personal computer, calculator, and typewriter Knowledge of safety requirements for warehouse operations Ability to work in unsupervised environment Experience:

Minimum of two (2) years of buying/inventory experience Major Responsibilities and Duties: Receiving and Distribution Prepare purchase orders and quotations for stock replenishment. Maintain an open and closed purchase order file on all orders. Expedite stock orders and returns. Responsible for debit memos and credits associated with shipping and receiving errors. Coordinate with Purchasing Department in preparing bids and quotations. Initiate contacts with vendors relative to supply and equipment availability, invoices, purchase orders and contracts. Obtain and study comparative prices and quotations. Investigate quantity and quality of commodities purchased. Assist in analyzing bids and prepares recommendations of award to the Director. Verify accuracy of shipments and record any discrepancies or damage. Inventory Assist Distribution Center Manager with inventory analysis and setting stock levels and reorder points. Maintain specification, vendor, purchase, and receipts records for each stock item. Purchase items of supply and equipment by competitive bidding informal quotations and negotiations. Conduct physical inventory of warehoused equipment, tools, and supplies and verify against inventory control totals. Maintain inventory records. Safety Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and carrying. Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles according to prescribed safety procedures. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Other Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief. Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities

Tools/Equipment Used :

Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; forklift or hydraulic lifting equipment; hand truck, dolly, and pallet jack; small hand tools; light truck or van

Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; frequent walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding; grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving

Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis

Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, and vibration; work around moving objects or vehicles; may work alone; occasional prolonged or irregular hours

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Pay Grade: CSP6

2025-2026 Salary Range Min. $41,735 Mid. $49,932 Max. $58,134 (Based on previous experience)

Salaries are determined by the number of completed and eligible years of service at an accredited school.

Salary is based on 235 days. If working less than 235 days, the salary will be less.
