Engineer III - Substation Civil-Structural
Location:
Marietta Salary:
Up to $165k (DOE, PE licensure) Relocation Package Available
What you'll be doing:
Provide civil-structural engineering leadership for substation projects, ensuring safe and cost-effective designs.
Create and review structural designs for foundations, steel, and site layouts supporting substation equipment.
Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and documentation to meet utility and industry standards.
Support design needs for permitting and construction activities.
Perform calculations for foundations, structural supports, and containment systems.
Lead technical reviews, mentor junior engineers, and provide quality assurance on deliverables.
Partner with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to resolve design challenges.
Visit job sites as needed to ensure designs are implemented successfully. What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited program).
5-7 years of experience in power delivery or utility-related civil/structural engineering.
Minimum of 3 years in
substation civil-structural design .
Professional Engineer (PE) license required (any state accepted).
Strong knowledge of substation foundation and structure design packages.
Ability to interpret specifications, evaluate alternatives, and deliver sound recommendations.
Experience mentoring junior staff and collaborating across engineering disciplines. What's in it for you:
