TITLE: Accounts Receivable Technician

RESPONSIBLE TO:

Executive Director of Business Services

JOB GOAL:

To perform accounts receivable duties in the Finance Department.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High School Graduate or GED Knowledge of accounting principles and practice Previous job related experience within Finance or Accounting and/or educational training Exhibited desire and ability to perform the required duties

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage all aspects of the accounts receivable procedures and train personnel on all cash handling policies and procedures according to Uniform System of Financial Records. Verifies, reconciles all district revenue; manages deposits through district financial software systems, according to state laws and district policies and procedures. District liaison for student related funds and others as assigned. Research discrepancies of financial data and/or documentation for the purpose of ensuring the accurcy and adhering to established policy and procedures. Maintain detailed accountability on deposits as required. Perform regular internal audits for the purpose of ensuring compliance with the Uniform System of Financial Records (USFR). Prepare journal entries, account transfers, and encumbrance entries for the purpose of ensuring the accuracy of accountin records and the availability of funds. Maintain the existing filing system abiding by the expectations of state requirements, district policies and procedures. Have a working knowledge of the Uniform System of Financial Records (USFR) chart of accounts. Assist the contract audit firm with the annual audit of the district. Responds to inquiries of staff and administration regarding financial procedures for the purpose of providing information, direction and/or referral for addressing inquiry. Demonstrates effective communication; both verbal and written. Maintains confidentiality of all records and information. Perform other duties as assigned.
