Title: Phlebotomist I
Location:North Dartmouth, MA, 02747
Shift: MON-Friday 7a-430p rotating Saturdays 7a-12p
Duration: 4 Months
Pay rate: $21/hr. on w2 Overview: The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the frontline representative of the organization, providing exceptional patient care and professional specimen collection services. This role is responsible for drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring all processes follow strict safety, confidentiality, and accuracy standards.
Key Responsibilities: Greet and assist patients, ensuring a positive and professional experience that builds trust and confidence. Perform
venipuncture and capillary blood collection
on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations. Collect and process
forensic and clinical specimens
following established protocols and safety procedures. Accurately label, document, and prepare specimens for transport to ensure integrity and traceability. Maintain compliance with all
HIPAA, safety, and infection control
guidelines. Demonstrate
leadership behaviors
by maintaining professionalism, teamwork, and a focus on process excellence. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while managing time efficiently in a
fast-paced clinical setting . Provide
patient education
on procedures, ensuring understanding and comfort throughout the collection process. Enter and verify patient and test information accurately in electronic systems (data entry proficiency required). Support workflow by communicating effectively with team members, supervisors, and laboratory staff. Remain flexible and available to cover weekends, holidays, and overtime shifts as needed. Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred. Certification:
Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in CA, NV, and WA). Experience:
Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy or patient service experience; 1+ year preferred. Experience in healthcare, retail, or customer service environment desired. Skills: Proficient in
phlebotomy, specimen handling, and labeling procedures Strong
customer service
and interpersonal communication skills Excellent
organizational, multitasking, and accuracy
abilities Ability to work
independently with minimal supervision Competence in
keyboard/data entry
and electronic health record systems
