Job Description Job Title: Counselor Profession: Counselor Specialty: Chemical Dependency Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Required/Maintained State Certification/Licensure or be in the process of obtaining Certification/License Certifications: Current certification in CPR and First Aid preferred.
Must-Have: Experience working with opiate addicted population required. Skilled in conducting assessments, treatment plan development and implementation, service coordination, and crisis intervention required. Knowledge of local community drug trends, the effects on the body and cognitive functioning of drugs of abuse, signs and symptoms of narcotic overdose, psychosocial implications of addictive disease, the process of addiction and treatment, social service, economic, legal, and medical systems, HIV transmission, health, behavioral, and emotional implications of addiction required. Skills Checklist required. Two Supervisory Reference Forms required.
Description: Provide treatment and casework services to patients in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Provide timely documentation of patient services based on plan of care. Identify physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs for assigned patients. Manage related expenditures in a fiscally responsible manner according to the budget. Travel as necessary. Prepare and maintain accurate and timely patient files. Coordinate care of assigned patients and present patient status and concerns with treatment team accordingly. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop and implement patient treatment plans according to State OTP regulations. Provide clinical services, patient care, education, and addiction counseling services to patients. Conduct individual counseling sessions. Provide patient advocacy and liaison services with community and regulatory agencies as needed. Monitor patient conditions to evaluate success of therapy and adapt treatment as needed. Assist in program evaluation efforts that describe and assess quality of services. Comply with all Federal and State regulatory standards as specified. File body specimen test results in patient files and use test results to monitor success of treatment. File various types of patient paperwork into charts. Coordinate with medical professionals to facilitate annual justifications, approvals for Step Levels, exceptions, and dose adjustments. Submit timely requests for take-home medications as deemed appropriate. Document patient progress notes and ensure that frequencies and counseling units are met. Conduct patient intake and orient patients to the program. Compose interpretative summaries, transition plans, and discharge summaries for each patient. Handle stressful situations and interact with others effectively. Be present during working hours for in-person meetings and maintain access to a computer without policy violations. Provide crisis intervention as needed. Attend staff meetings. Assist in program development activities. Participate in counseling supervision sessions. Support organizational and departmental philosophies, goals, and objectives through behavior that leads and motivates others. Communicate with counselors regarding pertinent patient information. Maintain regular attendance. Adhere to a code of conduct conducive to company policy. Meet or exceed delivery of service standards consistently. Interact positively and motivationally with all staff, supporting the company's mission. Conduct all business activities professionally and ethically. Perform other duties as assigned.
