Machinist / Tool & Die Maker
Summary We are seeking a
Machinist / Tool & Die Maker
for our aerospace manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate can interpret blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to design, build, modify, and repair a wide variety of tooling. This individual will also coordinate shop floor activities involving machining equipment and sheet metal machines for forming stainless steel and aluminum parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.
Design, craft, and troubleshoot production dies and tools Create prototypes for both current and potential customers Perform routine and preventive maintenance on shop equipment Read and interpret process instructions and blueprints accurately Set up and operate:
Conventional lathes Milling machines Surface grinders Hydraulic presses
Use precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, optical comparator) Operate CNC mills and lathes (some knowledge required) Collaborate with Production Control to determine production schedules Calculate and write requisition required stock and materials Inspect and verify machined products for quality and compliance
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience
3-5 years of relevant experience in a machining/tool and die environment Language Skills
Read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Speak clearly and effectively with customers and coworkers Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate:
Basic math, Percentages Area, circumference, volume Basic algebra and geometry principles
Reasoning Ability
Apply common sense and logical thinking to troubleshoot problems Understand written, oral, or diagram instructions Handle standardized problem-solving situations
Physical Demands
Occasionally required to:
Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Must be able to:
Lift/move up to 10 lbs. regularly Lift/move up to 50 lbs. occasionally
Schedule:
Monday - Friday (6:00AM - 2:30PM) Pay Rate:
$30.00 - $40.00 Per Hour based on experience
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $30.00 - $40.00 Per Hour
