Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
to support daily clinical operations, elevate resident outcomes, and mentor a high-performing nursing team. This role partners closely with the DON to drive quality, compliance, and a resident-first culture. Position Summary The ADON assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing services while ensuring adherence to state/federal regulations and facility policies. The ideal candidate is an experienced nurse leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced SNF environment. Key Responsibilities Support the DON in day-to-day leadership of the nursing department (staff supervision, scheduling, shift coverage). Maintain survey readiness; lead
QA ,
Infection Control , and
Risk Management
initiatives. Conduct audits (med pass, treatments, documentation, charting) and coach to close gaps. Track and trend clinical indicators (falls, infections, wounds, psychotropics, restraints, RTH) and drive improvement plans. Coordinate labs, imaging, outside appointments, and timely family/provider communication. Support
MDS/RAI
processes and person-centered care planning in alignment with regulations. Train, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff; reinforce policies and best practices. Participate in physician rounds; ensure orders are transcribed, implemented, and documented. Maintain required clinical logs (falls, infection control, catheters, etc.) and ensure compliance. Respond to condition changes; manage clinical escalations appropriately. Assist with supply management, restorative programs, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Serve as acting DON in the DON's absence. Qualifications
Current Texas RN or LVN license
in good standing (required). 2+ years
of nurse leadership/management experience in
SNF/LTC
(required). Working knowledge of federal/state regulations and standards of nursing practice. Proficiency in documentation and audits;
PointClickCare (PCC)
experience preferred. Strong communication, organization, coaching, and problem-solving skills. Experience with
MDS, QA, infection control, and care planning
strongly preferred. What We Offer
